About Menorca

Menorca is the second largest of Spain´s Balearic Islands and is by far the most unspoilt. The island has had an interesting and varied history and much of this history is still in evidence today. There are many renowned prehistoric sites and in more recent times, the influence of successive occupiers of the island has left its mark, both in the architecture and on Menorquin culture.

Menorca has a lush and picturesque interior, of gently rolling hills and pretty whitewashed villages. The real gem, however, is the stunningly beautiful coastline. The coast stretches for 216 kilometers and boasts over 100 "calas" (coves), many of which are only accessible from the sea by boat. The water is a crystalline aquamarine and has provided the inspiration for our company name, Clearwater Yacht Brokers.

The alluring waters, delightful summer climate and the truly warm welcome extended by the locals to visitors to the island, makes Menorca the perfect place for boating.

There are four nautical clubs on the island, located in Mahón, Cuitadella, Es Castell and Fornells who organise events throughout the summer months. Mahón Nautical Club and the Royal Nautical Club of Barcelona have joined together in recent years to organise an internationally renowned regatta, the Menorcan Regatta-Sant Joan Alfonso XIII Trophy-Casino Marítimo Port of Maó Trophy. The event is held in June and this year 100 boats took part.

Our office is located in the heart of the boating community in Menorca, on the waterfront in the Port of Mahón. Mahón is the world´s second deepest natural harbour (after Pearl Harbour) and is said to be one of the largest and safest ports in the Mediterranean. The port is a bustling and busy place, particularly in summer months, with an eclectic mixture of commercial and pleasure craft. The harbour is surrounded by a number of excellent restaurants and cafés providing the perfect place to relax and take in the views over the water.
